Galleria solutions are installed on desktop or laptop computers. No SQL server is required and each user maintains his/her own data on their own desktop. Sharing is only possible through exporting data. A desktop edition can connect to Galleria Foundation Services via a connector allowing for greater involvement in collaborative projects, access to shared data and projects.
This edition is ideal for use on smaller projects where collaboration is not important.
A workgroup edition involves a ‘client’ installed on the user’s desktop or laptop. This client enables the user to connect to a central database which is shared with other users. This type of solution offers a greater level of scalability to organisations starting out on a customer-centric journey. Security can be set up allowing only relevant users to access and share information.
Workgroup editions can also connect to Galleria Foundation Services allowing access to authoritative data sources, projects and other shared content. It also enables users to publish their work to Galleria Foundation Services allowing for a feedback loop.
